Assisting Clients to Get Affordable Health Care

You may have patients who are confused about what health insurance type of health insurance to get. One way to assist them is to present to them the options available through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. 

Also called ObamaCare, the ACA was enacted in March 2010, and its vision was to make health insurance more cost-effective, easier-to-find, and more in-tune with the needs of the public.  Improvements in regulations and rules have reduced the occurrence of claim denials and discrimination during the application process. Also, there are now more benefits available to children, young adults, and seniors. 

Current Status of ACA Marketplace

As of November 2016, the official site of the Affordable Care Act Marketplace announced that there is an open enrollment for patients who want to avail of insurance for 2017. According to the site, even if Donald Trump has been elected as president, the provisions of this law are still in effect. There have been no announcements so far about any changes in the implementation of the ACA, but the public is advised to remain updated.
